Argument mapping

Method to put a single hypothesis through a rigorous and step-wise test. In software, it is sometimes referred to as issues-based mapping, which is a database display that organizes a map of an issue, with branches of pro and con positions on the issue, with arguments for these positions, with research supporting each argument branching out tree-like so all the relevant information for the issue and arguments on the issue are visible. CM/1 was the first software; Compendium and Conversation Mapping are more current ones.
