Cyclical analysis
Origin: Lat. cyclus, Gr. κύκλος, ἀνάλυσις
Assumes that the underlying system that has given rise to cycles in the past still operates and will generate such performance in the future. However, as Herman Kahn used to point out, by the time you understand the dynamics of as cycle, conditions may have changed enough to make it no longer predictive.
