Forward-stepwise regression analysis
Origin: Lat. praevisĭo, -ōnis.principĭum
Uses all the same calculations as used in multiple regressions except that it "steps" through the regression procedure by entering only the independent variables that make a statistically significant contribution to the amount of variance. In the first step, each independent variable is examined in a separate regression in order to choose the one that accounts for the most variance.
Spanish: Análisis de regresión hacia el paso sabio
