Law of diminishing/accelerating returns
Origin: Lat. lex, legis diminuĕre/accelerāre re-tornāre
"Diminishing returns" describes a condition in any system in which increasing inputs result in less additional output. The opposite is true as well: accelerating returns mean that increasing the inputs brings increasingly more output.
