Logistic growth
Origin: Ingl. logistics, Lat. crescĕre
The S-shaped growth of a variable, beginning to rise slowly at first from a low asymptote, then accelerating, reaching an inflection point after which growth slows, and finally slowing to reach an upper asymptote. . A logistic function is defined by the mathematical formula: for real parameters a, m, n, and τ.
