Megadiversity
Origin: Gr. μεγα-, Lat. diversĭtas, -ātis
A concept introduced by Dr. Jeffrey A. McNeely to indicate the richness of species diversity in a given country by taking an inventory of species -70% of world species diversity is found in 10 such countries -Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Zaire, Madagascar, China India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia.
