Overshoot and collapse

Model-builders language for a system, which exceeds its limits and breaks down or 'crashes'. In the real world, this refers to such things as a crash caused by the exhaustion of a mineral resource, the inability of ecosystems to absorb waste, or the breakdown of social and/or economic systems. A future that can be avoided only if it is taken seriously, studied, and positive steps taken to encourage moves in other, more sustainable, directions.
