Polynomial-regression analysis
Origin: Gr. πολυ-, Lat. nominālis, regressĭo, -ōnis, Gr. ἀνάλυσις
A technique similar to multiple regression except that only one independent variable, often a time variable, is used, in first order (linear), second order (quadratic, or higher order terms. A typical polynomial regression equation takes the form: y= k +k x +k x… k x Where y is the dependent variable, x is the independent variable, and the k’s represent constant coefficients.
