Retroaction

Sometimes used as a less exact and less preferred term than “feedback” ; it is a process that consists of resending a measure of the consequences of an operation back to its input or other control point so as to affect the system results. This phenomenon is at the origin of many cycles, controlled homeostatic systems, or increasing or decreasing systems of exponential type.
