Anticipatory Innovation
Origin: Lat anticipare innovatio, -ōnis
Act of creating and implementing new value-changing innovations in environments of deep uncertainty, particularly for the purpose of exploring and shaping future priorities. Anticipatory innovation involves picking up signs of change, exploring problems, testing assumptions, and exploring radically different possibilities. It means implementation and learning that iteratively responds to the future as it unfolds. It is about ensuring that new technologies and innovations respond to both immediate concerns and future challenges.
