Origin: Lat. cambium and galo cambion
The transition from one state to another. The kind of change - evolution, revolution, metamorphosis, transformation, modification, mutation (a deep and lasting transformation) depends on the nature, duration, and intensity of the passage. Futurists distinguish between an endogenous change due to internal causes (e.g, political revolutions) and an exogenous change due to external causes (for example, the mobile phone revolution).
