Singularity
Origin: Lat. singularĭtas, -ātis
A theoretical point in the future when artificial intelligence exceeds human intelligence, leading to unforeseeable changes and consequences. A postulated time in the future when technological progress, and other aspects of human evolutionary development, become so rapid that nothing beyond that point can be reliably predicted. One envisioned aspect is the possibility of artificial intelligences designing systems more intelligent than they are.
