Theorem
Origin: Lat. theorēma, del gr. θεώρημα
A proposition that has been or is to be proved. Usually it has a set of assumptions, and a conclusion that flows from the given assumptions. For a statement to be called a theorem it must be provable, but the proof is not itself part of the theorem. An unprovable statement is a conjecture.
