Computer simulation
Origin: Lat.computāre, simulatĭo, -ōnis
Software using mathematical models intended to duplicate the behavior of a particular system. This can be a physical system in nature or social system like economic behavior. For example, different medical strategies can be tested in simulations of organisms (computational biology) to save laboratory experimental time to find potential impacts; or different economic strategies can be tested in simulations of the economy (econometrics) for their consequences.
