Sustainable development
Origin: Lat. sustinēre des-rotulare
Name given to the concept of a stable development, with persisting socio-cultural and economic effects, which has as its objective to solve the environmental crisis the world faces today and that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Development that responds to the present needs without jeopardizing the capacity of future generations to respond theirs.
