Node

A node is a point of connection, an intersection in a network; it can be a person, transaction, the result of the synergy of the paths leading to a node, an organization, a device or any other element of the network in which the node appears. Nodes that actively route data for the other networked devices as well as for themselves are called supernodes. In the Millennium Project, a node is one of 46 geographically dispersed cooperating organizations that give the project its global perspective.
